William McCarthy's images of
trees against sky, field and water evoke subtle variations of
light and atmosphere. He paints landscapes with a tonal palette
of mellow and warm browns, ochres, and sienna. Will's canvases
are drenched in light, but when you look for the source of light,
it appears to be everywhere - seeming to come from within his
images. His arrangement of trees standing in solitude brings forth
a variation of light, lending his paintings and atmosphere quality
with a warmth that radiates throughout. "When I look over
my body of work, I feel it speaks about spiritual places that
contain inner light radiating an ethereal whisper."
