The work of prominent folk
artist Paul Pitt depicts country scenes and New England life in
a folk art motif. From covered bridges to horse fairs, seascapes
and town greens, he depicts the sights and activities of turn
of the century New England. Mr. Pitt has been painting for the
better part of 40 years, using primarily oil, with occasional
works in watercolor and pastel. The detail in each of his folk
art works takes nearly one month to complete. The artist has been
the recipient of numerous awards, including the National Arts
Program Award and the Through Your Black Eyes Award. His work
has been displayed at the Getty Museum, the Hampton Museum, and
the Chrysler Museum.
