Strong Colors, Bold Shapes and Varied Subject Matter are the trademarks of the artistic creative paintings  of Jean-Guy Desrosiers. He is representative of the Quebec approch to painting. Within that School his unique style and charming depiction of Quebec countryside and villages have won his numerious advocates. He is widely collected throughout Canada.

Landscapes are some of his favorite sibjects. His early paintings depicted scenes around Quebec City but inthe past few years he has spent a great deal of time painting in the Charlevoix region of Quebec. " I am very attracted to the beauty of the area. It is quite unique, with its view of the St. Lawrence and the Mountains that plunge down to join the river and the villages that are scattered along winding hilly roads."

Jean-Guy attened TheTechnical School of Ottawa and tht Ecole des Beaux a Arts in Quebec. Presently he teaches at Patn Amadous in Quebec. He is the recipiant of du Prix Pierre-Garon award in both 1994 and 95.
