Hetal Mistry

"By capturing a ripple in time one may realize that the world around us is the real masterpiece"

Hetal Mistry completed her Bachelor of Fine Arts with advanced study in illustration. Her post graduate years were spent mastering traditional Indian art techniques, including the miniature painting technique renowned in Rajasthan, India. Her watercolors are strongly influenced by both her culture and training, with vivid color and design. Her keen eye for detail and love of nature's abstractions has culminated into a unique style and personal technique. The use of pigments in water, finding their own surrealistic form, are the vibrant background of her work.  Using this abstract framwork she brings out the form of her diverse subject matter.
Having grown up in a picturesque rural town in Inda has brought to her work a portrait of a moment of beauy from an idyllic world: a dew drop on a lotus leaf, a subtle ripple created by a butterfly koi, moomlight shimmering on a hidden lake.
After emigrating to the United States, Hetal has spent the past ten years painting and exhibiting her work in the New Jersey area. Her work has been displayed at the Trenton City Museum and the Wayne Art Center, included has been her painting of the Princeton Miller Chapel. Her January, 08 solo exhibit in Princeton received great reviews from the art community.
